Senator Loudon is a fiscal conservative with over a decade in the legislature to back it up.

  • Senator Loudon has risen to the position of the 3rd most senior member of the Missouri Senate yet, at the same time, he is also the 3rd youngest member. This is but one example of his unceasing dedication, and repeated success, from early-on in his career.

  • For the first time in Missouri history one Lawmaker passed two Senate Bill #1s. With his senior status and leadership, Senator Loudon authored and then handled the Governor’s Senate Bill #1 during the regular Session as well as the Governor’s priority legislation during the Special Legislative Session.

Republicans need a strong, fiscally conservative, proven candidate who can prevent the Auditor’s office from remaining in the hands of a litigious attorney. The office would be better handled by someone devoted to good business principles and one who will maintain fiscal order and accountability. John Loudon is that candidate.

Senator Loudon is the author, sponsor and supporter of pioneering Missouri legislation:
    - SB 1 - Workers’ Compensation Reform Bill
    - SB 1 - (special session) - Missouri’s Parental Consent Restoration Act
    - Tort Reform (co-sponsored this bill for several years, until he accomplished his goal of tort reform in Missouri)
    - Unemployment Insurance Reform
    - Hazelwood Ford Plant Bill

The key issue in the race for state Auditor is experience fixing real government problems. The Auditor should be able to go beyond conducting the audit to concisely defining the problem and skillfully developing solutions. Just issuing thick reports no one reads is not enough. Strong communities and taxpaying families require more than this.

Senator Loudon will restore professionalism, independence and integrity to the office of State Auditor. Not only recognized as a taxpayer watchdog, John Loudon spent five years in the Missouri Senate serving on the Governmental Accountability and Fiscal Oversight committee. He is currently the vice chairman of this committee.

Senator Loudon has been endorsed by Senate Floor Leader Charlie Shields and many Senate colleagues including Senators Matt Bartle, John Cauthorn, Norma Champion, Dan Clemens, Kevin Engler, Jack Goodman, Chris Koster, Chuck Purgason, LuAnn Ridgeway, Bob Mayer, and Carl Vogel.

On his campaign to be your next State Auditor, Senator Loudon has presented his 4 point plan for restoring integrity and independence to the auditor's office:
    1. Transparency:  It is extremely difficult to see how the current auditor's office is spending our tax dollars. Senator Loudon will make the actual auditor's office more transparent so that Missourians can easily see how the office is performing.
    2. John will begin by auditing the Auditor's Office:  as the only candidate in the race holding the title "Taxpayer's Watchdog," John's good stewardship and experience in oversight will continue in the auditor's office. That means getting the office itself running transparently and in a cost effective manner.
    3. Privatization of Performance Audits:  Independent auditors around the state can conduct performance audits more quickly and cost effectively than the state can, and do so free of the politics we have come to expect from Auditor McCaskill's office. Our goal will be to employ our homegrown CPAs from across the state to ensure that the government is operating more effectively.
    4. Training and expertise:   The auditor's office can be a central conduit providing training and expertise including software standards to the audited agencies around the state. We can have all the counties on one software product. This will benefit them, and make the job of our auditors easier.
